When Justin texted me saying, "we need to talk", I thought I was in trouble. Turns out I was— The Big Andrew is a project I've fallen in love with.
Goal: 2017 is The Big Andrew's 10th year as an organization. They’ve played a major role in supporting their hometown community of York Beach, Maine and were seeking to expand their outreach. Their goal is to bring together a community of passionate watermen and women for one cause; to financially and emotionally support cancer patients. With ten years of experience hosting Surf Competitions and Classic Car Shows in New England, they are excited to announce their first event in the Pacific Northwest.
The Big Andrew Foundation is proudly hosting the First Annual Big Andrew Down River Race on Saturday, June 3rd, 2017 on the White Salmon River in Washington. Their fundraiser events are an opportunity to honor a late friend, Andrew Gmelch, as well as an avenue to promote values, camaraderie, teamwork and compassion between their beloved lifestyle, sport and community.
Role: Marketing guru. Securing sponsorships, project management for overall event organization, on boarding a volunteer production team including creative design, photography and videography, writing press releases and all other general race support.
